Betta fishes are also known as fighter fishes because of their aggressive and territorial nature. Female betta fishes in comparison to males are bit more peaceful and for this reason, many hobbyists keep them together in a single tank. However one must observe for dominating females which could potentially fight with others. These fishes come under the gourami family and are native to Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. They are kept by people from all around the world because of the easiness in keeping, brilliant colors and personality.
