Ceratopteris thalictroides / Water Sprite/ Lace Fern

Ceratopteris Thalictroides is an attractive plant, used both as a mid-ground plant and as a floating plant. This species is extremely suitable for people who are planting tanks for the first time. It propagates from the tips of the leaves, hence they are extremely easy to reproduce. They remove unwanted and unhealthy inorganic nutrients from the tanks. The lighting condition required for this plant is moderate and its maintenance is easy. They are green in color and have a good growth rate. By providing c02 the growth rate can be enhanced. In small and open aquariums, it can grow out of the tank and form beautiful surface leaves. They try to prevent the formation of algae by absorbing excessive nutrients in the tank. They can grow up to a maximum of 30 cm height and to a width of 20 cm.
