 Natural Habitat

• Native to Sri Lanka
• Found in shallow, slow-moving waters like marshes, rice paddies, and streams
• Lives among dense aquatic plants

 Size & Appearance

• Adult size: 1–1.5 cm (extremely tiny!)
• Slender, transparent body
• A thin horizontal stripe along the body
• Males may show slight reddish tones when healthy

 Aquarium Setup

• Tank size: 10 liters+ (nano tank possible)
• Best in heavily planted aquariums
• Use fine substrate and floating plants
• Add driftwood and leaf litter for a natural feel

 Water Parameters

• Temperature: 22–28°C
• pH: 6.0–7.5
• Soft to slightly hard water
• Gentle filtration (avoid strong currents)

 Behavior & Tank Mates

• Peaceful and shy schooling fish
• Keep in groups of 8–10 or more
• Suitable tank mates:
  • Small shrimp (Neocaridina)
  • Micro fish (like Boraras species)
• Avoid large or aggressive fish (they may eat them!)

• Small mouth → food must be very tiny
