• Size: They typically grow up to 5-6 inches (12-15 cm) in length.

Habitat

• Origin: This species is native to the Rio Negro in Brazil, a blackwater river system known for its acidic, tannin-rich waters.
• Tank Setup: They thrive in a well-maintained aquarium with plenty of hiding spots, such as caves, driftwood, and plants. They prefer soft, slightly acidic water, mimicking their natural habitat.

Behavior

• Temperament: Starlight Plecos are generally peaceful and can be kept with other non-aggressive species. However, they can be territorial with their own kind, so providing ample space and hiding places is essential.
• Feeding: They are omnivorous, feeding on a diet of algae, vegetables, and high-quality sinking pellets. They may also enjoy occasional treats like bloodworms or brine shrimp.

Care Requirements

• Water Parameters: They prefer temperatures between 75-82°F (24-28°C), a pH of 6.0-7.5, and soft to moderately hard water.
