The Electric Blue Acara is a striking freshwater aquarium fish—a blue color morph of the Blue Acara (Andinoacara pulcher).

• Adult size: about 15–20 cm (6–8 in)
• Water: 22–28°C; slightly acidic to neutral/alkaline is generally tolerated
• Tank: ideally 200 L (55 gal) or larger for an adult
• Diet: quality cichlid pellets, supplemented with frozen/live foods
• Temperament: generally peaceful for a cichlid, though territorial when breeding
• Setup: sand or fine gravel, rocks/wood, hiding places, and open swimming space
• Tank mates: similarly sized, peaceful fish are usually best; avoid very small fish that may be eaten.
